WHAT ARE WE DOING TO PROTECT THE SUSQUEHANNA FROM FRACKING?
- We read, comment – and when necessary challenge – permits, policy modifications, and regulations from the Pennsylvania DEP that fail to protect the ecological integrity of the Susquehanna Watershed.
- We actively engage scientists, policymakers, and comment and advocate for a halt to all new shale gas development authorized by the Susquehanna River Basin Commission, the interstate water agency tasked with managing the water resources of the Susquehanna River Basin, until a comprehensive environmental study is performed. We believe proven science – not economics – must guide natural resources development.
- We educate, empower and organize concerned citizens of the Susquehanna Watershed in protecting their families, communities, and watersheds from this highly-polluting extractive practice.
