Keith is a freshwater underwater naturalist, educator, writer and photographer. He has a BS in Environmental Biology from Kutztown University and MS in Ecological Teaching and Learning from the Lesley University Audubon Expedition Institute. He is the founder of Freshwater Journeys, an outfitter
dedicated to connecting people to rivers through snorkeling, and has led thousands of people on river snorkeling explorations over the last 15 years. He has established freshwater ecosystem based education programs in China, has developed river snorkeling based curriculum, and has established freshwater snorkeling programs for the US Forest Service across the US.
He regularly works with Freshwaters Illustrated to develop educational materials to accompany their underwater films. His first book Snorkelhead, Adventures in River Snorkeling was published in 2016, and his second river snorkeling book Snorkeling Rivers and Streams an Aquatic Guide to Underwater Discovery and Adventure was published by Stackpole Books in March 2020. He has a third in the works. Keith is a Nationally Registered Paramedic and Swift Water Rescue Technician.
