Highlights from our Data Centers speaker event

We had a packed house last evening to discuss the hot topic of data centers coming to our region with special guest Drew Dehoff, Executive Director of the Susquehanna River Basin Commission (SRBC). Drew informed us on the important role the SRBC plays in managing water use throughout our river corridor and the enormous demand these centers have on our water resources.

We know that guiding land use decisions and advocating to protect those lands will fall on the hands of citizens and organizations like Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association. Drew encouraged everyone to get involved at the local level of their community government now to be in the loop on plans that will affect their community in the future.

We urge our local elected officials to make sure protective ordinances are in place and any proposals are transparent to the community so that residents are informed long before it becomes a reality.
