January Speaker Series Kicks Off with a hot topic.

Join us for an evening with Andrew Dehoff, the Executive Director of the Susquehanna River Basin Commission. With the potential rapid growth of data centers in Pennsylvania, there is much to consider and know before they come to town. Conversation about energy demand, land use, and community infrastructure are happening, but what about the impact on regional water resources?

Early Pennsylvania proposals indicate that a single AI hyperscale complex can require millions of gallons of water per day. This scale of water consumption places new pressures on municipal water infrastructure, wellfields, and aquatic ecosystems. Discover what resource regulators and planners are really seeing with data centers and local water impacts.

Speaker Biography

Andrew Dehoff was appointed Executive Director of SRBC in September 2013 following two three-year management assignments at the Commission, first with the Planning and Operations program and more recently the Project Review program. The latter work in the Commission's regulatory program entailed directing the review of applications and formulation of recommendations and policies related to proposed surface and ground water withdrawals and the consumptive use of water by industries, public water suppliers, power generation facilities and the natural gas industry. As manager of the Planning and Operations program, Andrew oversaw the collection and analysis of water use data, provided technical and hydrologic support to other Commission programs, and managed staff engaged in flood and drought preparedness activities.
